    L- Loving
    Y- Young

August is very awe-inspiring. Her openness to Lily gives Lily hope that there is good in this world, and not just evil. August also understands that Lily is not ready to explain why she has run away from home, and so hasn’t pressured her. August is very “go with the flow.” She has only used force once, when she was talking to the police to get Zach out of jail. August is unsurpassable in terms of honesty and ability to keep people comfortable. August is very self-confident as she wasn’t nervous at all while talking to the white police officers. August has a tremendous personality.

Lily is longing for love, for hope, and for anything that she didn’t have while living with T. Ray. Lily is also industrious. She was completely willing to work for her keep with the calendar sisters, and enjoyed working. Lily craves love. She gives all the love she has to anyone that expresses even the smallest amount of love towards her. Lily is also very young, reducing the hurt she has ever felt.
