  1. Answer: The quote in chapter 8 kind of gives you an idea about what may happen for these reasons. Basically this quote is saying that if someone does not have social contact with family or friends they begin to die (mostly on the inside though). So, maybe this is inferring that one of the main characters will start to drift off from the pack. For instance, maybe Lily, Zach, or one of the Boatwright sisters, becomes sad or finds out something very depressing. While in this depression maybe they start to avoid everyone else and kind of start to die (internally of course) without the support of their friends. Or maybe someone is forcefully cut off from everyone else and without being social they begin to feel sad and alone. In general, I think this chapter will be about someone having to solve an internal issue without the help of their friends.
This quote also relates to something that happened in the book earlier on. Towards the beginning of Lily’s stay at the Boatwright’s, we learned what happen to their younger sister April. When April was young she became depressed because of all of the discrimination in the world and when she couldn’t take it any longer she killed herself. So, April’s death relates to the quote since it shows how somebody stops interacting with people (in this case through depression) and without any contact with good people they die just like a bee (sometimes figuratively or literally). That is a good example of the quote in chapter 8.

  2. This qutoe means that each bee needs eachother to live. If one bee is isolated it will die. So this relates to the story already because T-ray is problay falling apart with out Lily. So, in this chapter some one or something is going to be removed from a group or pack and it wall not survive too long. That is what is going to happen in chapter eight.
